Job title : Sr. SAP ABAP CDS Views Expert
Location: Hyderabad/ remote
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP ABAP Developer with solid expertise in Core Data Services (CDS Views) and S/4HANA development. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of ABAP on HANA, performance optimization, and modern SAP extensibility techniques. The role involves designing scalable data models, optimizing complex queries, and leading end-to-end development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
ABAP Development
- Design, develop, and maintain complex RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows)
- Develop classical and OO ABAP programs
- Create and optimize function modules, BAPIs, BADIs, user exits, enhancements
- Work with IDOCs, ALE, RFCs, and Web Services
CDS Views & HANA Development (Mandatory Strong Skill)
- Design and implement advanced ABAP CDS Views
- Develop:
- Basic, Composite & Consumption Views
- CDS Table Functions
- Associations & Annotations
- Optimize performance using:
- Code pushdown techniques
- HANA-specific features
- AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures)
- Implement analytical CDS views for reporting
- Integrate CDS with OData services (Gateway/Fiori)
S/4HANA & Fiori Integration
- Experience with S/4HANA data model changes
- Develop OData services using SEGW & CDS
- Exposure to Fiori Elements
- Work on RAP (Restful ABAP Programming Model) Preferred
Performance & Optimization
- Conduct SQL trace and performance tuning (ST05, SAT)
- Optimize database access and reduce data redundancy
- Implement parallel processing techniques
Technical Leadership
- Lead technical design discussions
- Perform code reviews and enforce best practices
- Mentor junior developers
- Provide effort estimations and technical documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 12+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience
- Minimum 5+ years of strong experience in CDS Views
- Strong experience in:
- ABAP on HANA
- AMDP
- OData services
- Enhancements & BADI implementations
- Experience with S/4HANA implementations or conversions
- Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of SAP integration technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RAP model
- Exposure to SAP BTP
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5
- SAP Certification in ABAP or S/4HANA
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology
- Food, Agriculture, Logistics Industrial experience is preferred
Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field .
