01Overview
We are looking for a Leadership SRE to take ownership of the BHIM platforms application stability, reliability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices while leading maintenance initiatives, managing critical incidents, and driving automation and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Application Maintenance & Reliability
Own end-to-end maintenance and support of BHIM applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
Lead incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and issue resolution for production systems.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, defects, and system vulnerabilities.
Implement proactive monitoring and alerting frameworks to minimize downtime.
2. DevOps, CI/CD & SRE Enablement
Drive adoption and optimization of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
Work closely with engineering teams to improve deployment reliability, release cycles, and rollback strategies.
Implement SRE principles such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and system observability.
Enhance system resilience through capacity planning, failover strategies, and chaos testing (preferred).
3. Leadership & Team Oversight
Provide technical leadership and guidance to software maintenance and support engineers.
Define KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics for system performance and team efficiency.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Act as a technical escalation point for high-impact incidents.
4. Process Excellence & Automation
Establish and improve maintenance processes, including patch management, version control, and release governance.
Drive automation in monitoring, deployment, and incident response to improve operational efficiency.
Ensure adherence to ITIL practices and service management frameworks.
5. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to align maintenance with business goals.
Provide regular updates to leadership on system health, risks, and improvement initiatives.
Ensure seamless coordination during critical releases and production incidents.
6. Security & Compliance
Ensure timely implementation of security patches, vulnerability fixes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Work with security teams to perform periodic audits and risk assessments.
Maintain adherence to data security and financial system compliance standards.
7. Vendor & Ecosystem Management
Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers supporting the BHIM ecosystem.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to SLAs and uptime commitments.
Support licensing, upgrades, and integration activities as required.
Key Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
15+ years of experience in software maintenance, production support, DevOps, or SRE.
Proven experience in handling high-availability, transaction-heavy platforms (preferably fintech/payments).
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in
DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) frameworks
Production monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk)
ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and microservices architecture.
Strong understanding of:
System debugging, performance tuning, and incident management
Database management (SQL/NoSQL)
Security best practices and compliance frameworks

Preferred Qualifications
