At Scalemetrics , we are backing the next generation of category-defining European Big Data & AI startups . We are looking for an ambitious, relentless, and finance-sharp Startup Fund Manager who wants to become extremely successful in Venture Capital.
This is not a traditional 9-to-5 job where you simply execute tasks. You will be given the autonomy to create, automate, and build . You will lead deal sourcing across Europes top tech hubs, run institutional-grade financial due diligence, and use cutting-edge AI to automate operationseffectively running the pipeline with the efficiency of a 10-person team.

What You Will Do
1. AI-Powered Sourcing & Deal Flow
- Source Europe's Best AI & Big Data Startups: Map and scout the top 1% of European early-stage (Pre-Seed/Seed) startups across AI, Machine Learning, Data Infrastructure, and Analytics.
- Build Automated Intelligence Engines: Use AI, web scrapers, API pipelines, and databases (PitchBook, GitHub, Hugging Face, Harmonic) to discover high-potential startups before anyone else does.
2. Financial Due Diligence & Valuation
- Rigorously Audit Financials: Analyze complex financial decks, 3-statement models, cash runways, unit economics (LTV/CAC, burn rates, gross margins), and cap tables.
- Build Dynamic Valuations: Conduct institutional-grade valuations using early-stage frameworks, revenue multiples, and scenario analyses. Spot red flags instantly.
3. Fund Operations & AI Automation
- Automate Everything: Apply a easy philosophy: "If a task is done twice, build an AI agent/workflow for it." Leverage tools like Make.com, n8n, OpenAI/Claude APIs, and custom prompts to automate deck parsing, CRM updates, and founder tracking.
- Investor & Portfolio Reporting: Generate automated, high-precision quarterly portfolio updates, performance metrics (IRR, TVPI, MOIC), and financial health dashboards for investors.
Who You Are
- Finance-First Mindset: 35 years of hands-on experience in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Equity Research, or M&A; . (Preferably CFA candidates/charterholders, CAs or Masters in Corporate Finance).
- Note: We are strictly looking for forward-looking corporate finance/valuation backgroundsnot traditional accounting, statutory audit, or tax backgrounds.
- Obsessed with Startup Investing: You follow tech, read market trends, understand early-stage business models (SaaS, usage-based pricing, data licensing), and genuinely care about how technology transforms industries.
- AI-Native & Technical Curiosity: You don't just use ChatGPT for writing emailsyou experiment with LLMs, automation platforms (Make/Zapier), and APIs to eliminate manual work.
- A Creator, Not Just an Executor: You identify problems and build systems to solve them without waiting for step-by-step instructions.
- Hard-Working, Driven & Coachable: You take feedback hungry for growth, adapt fast, and take extreme ownership of outcomes.
Required Technical & Financial Skills
Domain Core Mastery Required
Corporate Finance & Valuations Advanced Excel/Google Sheets, 3-Statement Modeling, DCF, Unit Economics, Cap Table Dilution, SAFEs/Convertible Notes.
Venture Capital Math ARR/MRR dynamics, Cash Burn Rate, Runway Analysis, Pro-rata Rights, Valuation Caps.
Modern AI & Stack Make.com / Zapier, Airtable / Notion, LLM Prompt Engineering, Web Scraping / APIs.
Communication Fluent, clear, professional English (written & spoken) for founder screening and investor reporting.
