Role description:
Experience:
- 4-7 years of experience in the IT industry, including Backup and Storage administration.
Technical Expertise:
- Backup Technology:
- Design, administration, and implementation of backup products including Hitachi, NetApp, Veritas NetBackup, and EMC Networker.
- Experience managing disk-based backup storage devices such as Hitachi, NetApp, EMC Data Domain, and Symantec NetBackup appliances.
- Expertise in setting up duplication/replication through Storage Lifecycle Policies.
- Storage Administration:
- Administration, migration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of EMC Storage Arrays (VMAX, VNX 7500/5700/5500/5300, Isilon, Clariion CX-4/CX-3, CX 700/600/500).
- Proficient in administering Fabric Switches using CLI and Connectrix Manager.
- Hands-on experience with NetApp SAN and NAS technologies.
- Managing and monitoring NetApp 7-mode and cluster-mode systems.
- Troubleshooting performance issues on filers by collecting Core Dumps and Perfstats.
- Operations & Maintenance:
- Ensure SAN infrastructure services and operations are delivered consistently and are in compliance with SLAs.
- Coordinate necessary storage and backup infrastructure maintenance with vendors and customers according to best practices and SLAs.
- Manage SAN implementations and operational duties with a focus on productivity, cost control, and ensuring data availability and integrity.
Documentation & Process Improvement:
- Draft processes and procedures for both documented and undocumented backup software and hardware troubleshooting guides.
- Conduct regular audits of backup and storage configurations to maintain service quality.
Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution:
- Expertise in quickly troubleshooting day-to-day SAN/Storage and Backup-related issues.
