01Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (Valve Industry Specific)
Oversee the global procurement of critical valve components: heavy castings, forgings, elastomers, actuators, and machined components. Especially from China, Europe & UK
Manage and cultivate relationships with qualified domestic and international foundries and machine shops.
Lead complex negotiations for long-term agreements (LTAs) to secure favourable pricing, quality, and lead times while cushioning against fluctuating raw material indices (e.g., steel, nickel alloys).
Enforce strict supplier quality alignment with industry standards (API, ASME, ISO, NACE).
The exposure on new product development castings and forgings enhancements especially into Ball valves.
Logistics & Global Trade Compliance
Direct all inbound and outbound logistics operations across domestic and international corridors (ocean, air, and heavy-haul freight)
Ensure absolute compliance with customs regulations, export controls, tariffs, and duty drawback programs.
Manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimize transit times and minimize demurrage/detention costs
Oversee the logistics of oversized/heavy project shipments frequently required for industrial valve orders.
Inventory Control & Materials Management
Develop and implement robust inventory strategies to balance high manufacturing uptime with optimized working capital.
Utilize advanced MRP/ERP systems to forecast material requirements based on the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle.
Maintain accurate inventory tracking across multiple warehouses, implementing cycle counting programs to achieve >99% accuracy.
Leadership & Process Optimization
Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of procurement specialists, logistics coordinators, and warehouse personnel.
Establish, monitor, and report on departmental KPIs (e.g., On-Time Delivery, Supplier OTD, Inventory Turns, Total Cost of Ownership).
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelors degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 15 Yrs of in supply chain / procurement / logistics within the valve or engineering manufacturing industry.
Hands-on experience of procuring the trunnion mounted ball valves parts is added advantage. .
