01Responsibilities
Lead and perform detailed review of U.S. Federal corporate tax returns (Form 1120) as the primary focus
Oversee preparation and review of work papers, including taxable income calculations and reconciliations
Manage the end-to-end tax compliance process, including reviewing financial statements from a tax perspective, understanding tax provisions, and calculating taxable income.
Review financial statements to identify tax implications and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
Provide oversight and guidance on partnership tax returns (Form 1065) and state returns as needed is a plus
Manage client engagements, including planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring timelines and priorities are met
Participate in and lead client meetings and presentations, providing proactive insights and resolving tax matters
Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and implement tax planning and consulting opportunities
Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff and senior associates, conducting performance reviews and fostering career growth, exhibiting people leadership qualities
Ensure effective resource allocation in collaboration with the resource management team to optimize engagement staffing
Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and best practices, and provide technical guidance to the team
Contribute to process improvements, technology adoption, and knowledge sharing within the tax practice
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required
Minimum 8 years of experience in U.S. taxation, with strong expertise in federal and state compliance
Proficiency in using tax software such as OneSource Income Tax, CCH, and GoSystem
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple engagements, and work effectively under tight deadlines
Strong communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree, CPA, or Enrolled Agent certification
Prior experience with Big 4 or large U.S.-based/national accounting firms and/or in-house corporate tax experience
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills
Proven track record of managing complex engagements and client portfolios
Technology skills including MS Office, Alteryx, and other tax automation tools
