01Role Overview
The Team Leader in Investment Operations Outsourcing (IOO), Market Operations, is responsible for leading and managing a team of Analysts, Senior Analysts, and Technical Coordinators, ensuring stable, accurate, and timely delivery of middle - office operations across Trade, FX, Cash, and Settlements.
The role provides day - to - day delivery ownership, oversees trade lifecycle execution, manages escalations, ensures regulatory and SLA adherence, and drives continuous improvement. The Team Leader plays a key role in talent development, governance oversight, stakeholder engagement, and risk management, while fostering a high - performance and control - driven culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Analysts, Senior Analysts, and Technical Coordinators across daily BAU operations.
Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development discussions.
Set clear performance goals, track progress, and ensure alignment with business objectives and service expectations.
Promote a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
Identify skill gaps and ensure timely training and knowledge uplift across the team.
Own end-to-end delivery of daily BAU operations across asset classes including equities, fixed income, FX, and cash.
Ensure timely trade capture, prematching, confirmation, settlement, and post-settlement processing.
Provide oversight to ensure all activities are completed accurately, within market cut-offs, SLAs, and control requirements.
Assess exceptions, deviations, and aged items; take corrective action to ensure timely resolution and risk mitigation.
Act as the primary escalation point for complex, high-risk, or client-impacting issues.
Ensure effective execution of internal controls, risk mitigation actions, and documented procedures.
Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Oversight teams to address operational risks, audit findings, and control gaps.
Ensure team adherence to applicable regulations and market standards including T+1 settlement, market penalties.
Ensure all processes are supported by accurate, current SOPs and DPAD documentation, and that the team is well-versed in their application.
Own and maintain KPIs, SLAs, KRIs, and performance dashboards for the functional area.
Ensure structured tracking and reporting of issues, actions, and performance through governance forums
Conduct regular procedure, workflow, and control reviews to identify efficiency, quality, and risk-reduction opportunities.
Drive standardization of best practices across the team to minimize errors and operational variability.
Partner with Solutions and Technology teams to support automation, STP improvements, and change initiatives.
Apply Lean / Six Sigma principles (where applicable) to reduce waste and improve process efficiency.
Serve as the primary operational point of contact for Front Office, custodians, brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Represent the team in discussions with senior management, oversight forums, and governance meetings.
Ensure timely, transparent communication on operational status, risks, incidents, and improvement initiatives. Experience & Qualifications
7-10 years of experience in banking or investment operations, trade support, or middle-office functions.
Strong end-to-end understanding of trade lifecycle processes, settlements, cash and FX operations, and market infrastructure.
Prior experience managing teams in a fast-paced, time-critical operational environment.
Hands-on experience with industry platforms such as Bloomberg, SWIFT, DTCC, CTM, Finastra, CLS, or equivalent systems.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
For IJP, minimum 2+years in the current role as Technical Coordinator role or lateral role with 1+years of experience.
Flexibility to support North America shifts (7:30 PM or 10:30 PM IST).
