About role
You will sit between business stakeholders and the engineering team on an insurance technology product.
This is a hands-on hybrid role:
part business analyst,
part technical analyst.
You will run requirement discussions with stakeholders,
translate what they need into clear specifications the developers can build against,
and stay close to the build through testing and release.
Insurance domain exposure
(policy administration,
claims,
underwriting, broking,
or similar)
is preferred and will move your profile to the top of the list. Strong analysts from adjacent
BFSI domains will also be considered.
What You Will Do
Gather,
document and sign off business requirements with internal and client stakeholders
Write functional specifications,
user stories and acceptance criteria the development team can work from directly
Break down requirements into technical impact:
data,
interfaces,
workflows,
reports
Write and run
SQL queries to validate data,
investigate issues and answer business questions without waiting on a developer
Produce process flows,
wireframes and mapping documents
Support
UAT
build test scenarios,
coordinate business users,
track and close defects
Maintain the backlog in
JIRA and keep requirement traceability clean from ask to release
Act as the day to day point of contact between business and engineering during the sprint
Qualifications :
- B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, Electronics or any engineering discipline
- MCA or BCA
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, IT or Statistics
- B.Com / BBA / BMS with demonstrable technical analysis experience
- MBA in Systems, Finance, Operations or Insurance Management
Preferred:
MBA (Systems / Finance / Insurance) alongside a technical undergraduate degree
Licentiate / Associate from the Insurance Institute of India (III), or equivalent insurance
certification
CBAP, ECBA or IIBA certification
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent Agile certification
Consistent academic record with minimum 60% or 6.5 CGPA through graduation. Full-time degrees preferred; distance or part-time considered where work experience is strong.
Skills must have
2 to 4 years as a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst or in a combined BA/TA roleWorking SQL: joins, aggregations, ability to read a schema and trace data yourselfProven requirement documentation: BRD, FSD, user stories, acceptance criteriaComfortable with JIRA or an equivalent tracker, and Agile or Scrum deliveryClear written and verbal English; able to hold a requirement conversation with a business stakeholder unaidedAvailable to work from the Pune office 5 days a weekAble to join at short notice
