Perform testing of generator-related panels and circuits at siteConduct interface checks between panelsCommission generators and associated systemsExecute site tests before and after GT (Gas Turbine) start-upTypical Site Activities:
Before GT Start:Power receivingPanel testing within scopeLoop checks with external panelsInterlock and phase relation testsAfter GT Start:No-load and on-load tests (50%, 75%, 100%)Load rejection testsPerformance testsSpecial tests required by grid operators (e.g., NERC compliance)
Work Experience
Required Skills & Experience:Technical Experience:Minimum 5 years in testing and commissioning electrical systems for thermal power plants.Hands-on experience with generator control systems, excitation systems, and protection relaysStrong understanding of generator main circuit, synchronization, and interlock logicExperience in site testing procedures, including:Power receiving and energizationLoop checks and interface verificationInterlock and phase relation testsLoad rejection and performance testsFamiliarity with grid compliance standards (e.g., NERC, IEEE)Preferred Experience:Commissioning of combined cycle power plantsKnowledge of Static Frequency Converter (SFC) operation and troubleshootingExperience with SCADA/DCS systems integrationAbility to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and logic drawingsPrevious overseas commissioning experienceSoft Skills:English communication skills for technical discussions and reportingAbility to work in multicultural teams and adapt to overseas site conditionsProblem-solving and troubleshooting under time constraints .
