Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage quality engineering tools and solutions such as tools for QA teams to expedite testing, dashboards for reporting stats and metrics, and AI-based solutions for work efficiency.
- Manage and lead testing activities for a workstream, program, or multiple projects/initiatives if involved in a project.
- Lead a team of quality engineers working on solutions, including capacity management, performance management, productivity, quality assurance, and compliance with project requirements.
- Recognize and identify areas for improvement in policies, processes, procedures, and tools/methodologies and implement continuous improvements.
- Provide input, feedback, and challenge technical designs, assess impacts to testing based on technical details, and develop QA automation solutions.
- Apply extensive knowledge of software quality assurance activities, tasks, tools, and techniques to evaluate new or enhanced systems and software tools for adherence to functionality and quality requirements.
- Utilize quality management methods, tools, and techniques to create and support an environment that meets organizational needs.
- Set appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals' roles support the achievement of the business unit's priorities and CIBC's overall goals.
- Collaborate with peers, project managers, developers, and business analysts to identify, discuss, and resolve issues related to testing and quality engineering.
- Interact regularly with development teams, product owners, and external vendors to establish and monitor service level agreements, define service requirements, and ensure the delivery of quality solutions.
Qualifications Required
- 10+ years of industry and job experience in software quality engineering, quality assurance, and test management with 2-3 years of managerial experience.
- Extensive experience in evaluating systems, software packages, and tools for functionality and quality requirements.
- Experience in multiple automation testing frameworks such as Robot Framework, Appium, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright.
- Proficient with Jira, Confluence, and/or other similar Agile, development, and QA tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive quality outcomes.
