Test Automation Engineer II (Chennai)

As a TAE II on the GasBuddy team at PDI, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with our development team to design and implement test strategies, create automated test suites, and identify and report defects. Your efforts will help us deliver high-quality software that exceeds our clients' expectations. \n

- Test Strategy and Planning: - Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and define comprehensive test strategies. - Develop test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on project specifications. - Develop a priority test plan ensuring coverage for areas of highest to lowest risk. Test Automation: - Design and develop automated test scripts and test frameworks using industry-standard tools and languages (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, Python). - Maintain and enhance existing test automation suites. Execution and Reporting: - Execute automated and manual tests to verify software functionality, performance, and reliability. - Identify and document defects, issues, and inconsistencies, and work with the development team to resolve them. Continuous Improvement: - Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing and automation. - Drive improvements in test processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Collaboration: - Work closely with developers, product managers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on quality objectives. - Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality concerns. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Proven experience in software testing, test automation, and quality assurance. - 4-7 years of experience with test automation frameworks and tools. - Experienced writing automation tests for mobile, web, and APIs. - Mobile Android and iOS experience are mandatory. - Proficiency in a programming/scripting languages such as Python, Javascript/NodeJS, C#, or similar. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. - Comfortable working in Mac, Windows and Linux OS and networking including network configuration, scripting, & permissions management using bash, PowerShell. - Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to help others and take action. - Requires strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms. - Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team. - Ability to socialize ideas and influence decisions without direct authority. - Collaborative in nature with a robust desire to dig in and learn independently and as well as through asking questions. - Considers best-practice standards, as well as departmental policies and procedures. - Additional points if you have experience with: property-based testing - proficiency querying databases, e.g. MySql, PostgreSql, T-Sql Behavioral Competencies: - Ensures Accountability - Manages Complexity - Communicates Effectively - Balances Stakeholders - Collaborates Effectively \n PDI is committed to offering a well-rounded benefits program, designed to support and care for you, and your family throughout your life and career.
