Underwriter
(New Business, Renewals & Client Portfolio Management)
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
- Manage assigned commercial client portfolio
- Act as the primary relationship manager for corporate clients
- Conduct regular client reviews and risk assessments
Recent Business Growth
- Identify opportunities within existing clients
- Handle inbound and referred new business leads
- Work with insurers to structure competitive solutions
- Drive cross-sell of multiple lines, not limited to:
- Property
- Liability
- Marine
- Engineering
- SME Packages
Renewals & Retention
- Manage renewal cycle for entire portfolio
- Negotiate improved terms with insurers
- Maintain strong client retention levels
- Identify coverage gaps and recommend improvements
Client Advisory Role
- Provide risk advisory and insurance recommendations
- Assist clients with claims coordination (when required)
- Ensure proactive service and relationship management
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with internals team for finance, claims, compliance and quality
- Maintain CRM updates and pipeline tracking
- Monitor receivables and payment follow-ups
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Portfolio Revenue Growth
- Client Retention Ratio
- New Business Revenue
- Cross-Sell Ratio

Requirements
Experience
- 35 years commercial insurance experience
- Strong knowledge of UAE commercial insurance market
- Experience managing corporate & individual clients
Skills
- Relationship management expertise
- Strong negotiation skills
- Technical commercial insurance knowledge
- Strong presentation and advisory skills
Education
Bachelor's Degree (Insurance, Business, Finance preferred)
