Value-Based Care Coder

About the Role We're hiring a Value-Based Care (VBC) Coder to ensure accurate and compliant documentation of patient health status. You'll work closely with care teams before, during, and after visits to support quality coding and improve outcomes. Key Responsibilities Review visits in real-time to support accurate documentation and coding (virtual or in-person). Generate compliant queries to clarify documentation as needed. Submit corrected claims after compliant note updates. Educate care teams on risk adjustment and documentation best practices. Improve coding accuracy through feedback, training, and reporting support. Review ICD-10 CM mappings from CMS. Collaborate with internal teams to improve coding tools and workflows. Requirements Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC), or similar. 3+ years' experience in medical coding, preferably with risk adjustment. Deep knowledge of coding guidelines, risk adjustment, CMS HCC models, and value-based contracts. Preferred Experience in pre-visit planning and provider education. Familiarity with athenahealth, GSuite, and Google apps. .
