Position: VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Engineer / Architect with Automation Location: Bangalore, India (Hybrid Prospect) Long Term Contract Role Overview We are looking for experienced VMware Cloud Foundation engineers and architects to support a large-scale private cloud implementation for one of our key customers. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise private cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, and large-scale configuration automation for a customer operating one of the most demanding regulated environments in financial services. You will design, build, and automate VCF environments end to end compute, storage, networking, and lifecycle management and deliver the automation tooling that makes those environments repeatable, auditable, and operable at enterprise scale. Team Mission Our team enables enterprise customers to run modern private cloud at scale without compromising on security, compliance, or operational control. Many financial services customers maintain large on-premises estates that are business-critical and subject to strict regulatory oversight. - Deliver VCF platforms that are repeatable, standards-compliant, and fully lifecycle-managed. - Replace manual build and configuration effort with code versioned, reviewed, and auditable. - Build infrastructure that is observable, operable, and resilient across large multi-site deployments. What You Will Do - Design, deploy, and operate VMware Cloud Foundation environments across the full stack vSphere, vSAN, NSX, SDDC Manager, and Aria / VCF Operations. - Build and maintain automation for VCF provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management using Salt, Python, and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling. - Develop reusable IAC modules and pipelines so that environment builds are consistent, repeatable, and version-controlled. - Automate day-2 operations: patching, upgrades, compliance enforcement, drift detection, and remediation. - Work with the customer's infrastructure, network, security, and platform teams to translate enterprise requirements into scalable designs. - Integrate VCF with enterprise systems via APIs identity, monitoring, ITSM, backup, and security tooling. - Improve platform reliability through instrumentation, logging, monitoring, automated validation, and operational readiness practices. - Participate in design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, production triage, and continuous improvement of engineering practices. Required Qualifications - VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is the primary and mandatory skill for all three positions - Hands-on experience in deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management in production environments. - Candidates must additionally bring depth in at least two of the following areas: - Salt (SaltStack / VCF Automation Config / Aria Automation Config) - VCF automation - Python and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) - VCF full-stack architecture - Strong working knowledge of the VMware stack: vSphere / ESXi, vSAN, NSX (or NSX-T), SDDC Manager, vCenter. - Practical automation and scripting ability Python, PowerCLI, or equivalent applied to real infrastructure workloads. - Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices and tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Salt, or comparable), including version control and CI/CD workflows. - Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure fundamentals: networking, storage, virtualization, identity, and distributed systems basics. - Ability to debug complex issues across hypervisors, networks, storage layers, APIs, and automation pipelines. - Technical ownership, design leadership, production accountability, and the ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly .
