Job Description:

• Zoology / Advanced Zoology graduate seeking an entry-level opportunity in the medical coding and healthcare industry.
• Apply knowledge of biology, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology to understand clinical documentation.
• Review patient medical records and identify diagnoses, procedures, and other relevant clinical information under established coding guidelines.
• Learn and accurately apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Understand physician documentation, diagnostic reports, treatment records, and other healthcare-related documents.
• Perform basic medical record review and identify missing, unclear, or inconsistent information.
• Follow medical coding guidelines, organizational procedures, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail while handling patient-related information.
• Participate in training, coding assessments, quality audits, and continuous learning activities.
• Achieve required accuracy, productivity, and turnaround-time targets after completion of training.
• Work effectively with coding, quality, and healthcare operations teams.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop a long-term career in medical coding.

Preferred Qualification:

• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Zoology, Advanced Zoology, Life Sciences, Biology, or a related field.
• Freshers are eligible.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology is an advantage.
• Medical coding certification such as CPC, CCA, or CCS is an advantage but may not be mandatory for trainee positions.
• Good English communication, analytical ability, attention to detail, and basic computer skills.
