Role Description The Windows File Share Security Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure Windows file share environments. This role involves configuring access controls, permissions, and policies to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with security standards. The engineer will monitor security events, perform regular audits, and conduct risk assessments related to file sharing and data access. Daily activities include troubleshooting security issues, collaborating with infrastructure and application teams, and documenting procedures and controls. The role also includes contributing to security architecture, recommending improvements, and supporting incident response activities when file sharerelated security events occur. Qualifications Strong skills in Security Engineering and Information Security, with experience designing and maintaining secure Windows file share environments.Proficiency in Network Security and Cybersecurity practices, including secure access control, encryption, and monitoring of data in transit and at rest.Experience with Application Security concepts as they relate to file access, authentication, and integration with enterprise applications.Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and permission models (NTFS, share permissions, ACLs).Experience with security tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, DLP, endpoint protection, vulnerability management) and incident response processes.Ability to analyze complex technical issues, document findings, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Microsoft security/admin certifications are beneficial. .
