Workday Time & Absence Functional SME

Location: Bangalore, India Experience: 67 Years Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are looking for an experienced Workday Time & Absence Functional SME to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management, with the ability to lead functional design, configuration, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and production support activities. The candidate will work closely with HR, business stakeholders, technical teams, and other Workday functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient solutions aligned with business requirements. Key Responsibilities Act as a Functional SME for Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management.Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective Workday functional solutions.Configure and maintain Workday Time Tracking, Absence, Time Off, Leave, and related business processes.Design and configure eligibility rules, time calculations, time entry, validations, accruals, balances, and absence plans.Configure complex time-off and leave policies, including eligibility and accrual requirements.Support integrations between Workday Time & Absence and other HR, payroll, and third-party systems.Lead functional design sessions, requirement gathering, solution documentation, and stakeholder discussions.Perform impact analysis for Workday releases and recommend required configuration changes.Develop and execute functional test scenarios, including unit, system integration, regression, and UAT testing.Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide sustainable solutions.Collaborate with Workday Payroll, Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, and Integration teams where required.Support data validation, migration activities, reporting requirements, and audit-related requests.Prepare functional specifications, configuration documents, test scripts, and process documentation.Provide guidance and mentoring to junior Workday functional consultants.Stay current with Workday product enhancements, releases, and Time & Absence best practices. Required Skills & Experience 67 years of overall Workday functional experience, with strong expertise in Time & Absence.Strong hands-on experience in Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management.Expertise in configuring Time Off, Absence Plans, Accruals, Eligibility Rules, Time Calculations, Time Entry, and related business processes.Strong understanding of Workday HCM business processes and security concepts.Experience in Workday implementation, enhancement, and/or production support projects.Good understanding of HR policies, leave management, time management, and payroll-related processes.Experience working with cross-functional Workday teams and business stakeholders.Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to independently own functional requirements and deliverables.Good to Have Workday Time & Absence certification.Experience with Workday Payroll or Core HCM.Exposure to Workday integrations, reporting, and calculated fields.Experience supporting global HR processes across multiple geographies.Knowledge of Workday releases and tenant management.
