Job Description 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior database engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The candidate will be playing an imperative role in designing, implementing and maintaining sophisticated database systems catering to an organization's data management requirements. The candidate should possess extensive experience in database architecture, developing scalable and effective databases handling large volumes of data while ensuring optimal performance. 

Candidates should focus on maintaining security by implementing stringent security measures safeguarding against vulnerabilities and security audits to ensure compliance with other regulatory measures. 

The candidate should focus on collaboration and teamwork with other IT professionals including system administrators, and network engineers. The candidate should be active in mentorship, supporting junior staff and fostering a culture of learning and improvement. 
The candidate should be active in taking up challenges and staying abreast of the latest advancements in different services.  
Along with effective communication, and other technical concepts senior database engineers will be vital assets combining both their technical and strategic vision to build robust, secure and efficient database systems driving business success.  

Responsibilities 

• Should be responsible for designing and developing client architectures meeting business requirements.

• Creating and optimizing database schemeviews ensuring effective data storage and retrieval.

• Continuously monitoring database performance and notifying resolving bugs responsible for implementing indexing, query optimization and tuning techniques enhancing solutions performances

• Implementing and enforcing security elements safeguarding data from unauthorised access 

• Setting up encryption, user authentication and accessing control to safeguard data 

• Developing and implementing backups and recovery strategies protecting against any serious real-world scenarios. 

• Serving guidance to other junior developers fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement 

• Evaluation of new database models including NoSQL, and assess applicability to the organization's needs 

• Preparing consistent reports for database performance and management reviews 

Qualification 

• Candidate should have a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology 

• Prior experience in database design, implementation 

• Should be Proficient in SQL and database management systems

• Should be experienced with NoSQL databases understanding of their usage and cases 

• Strong understanding of database security practices and compliance

• Should have e Certifications in database management (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).

• Should be Experienced with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL Database).

• Knowledge of big data technologies and data warehousing solutions.

• The candidate should have expertise in developing and implementing backup strategies

• Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts and strategies 

• Demonstrating commitment to staying active towards innovations and advancements. 

• Ability to evaluate and implement new tools, and methodologies.
